Help
We will be adding to this Help section as questions and comments are submitted, but here are a few pointers and tips to help you get the most out of this site.
- There are over 18,000 hotels on Govrooms.com that offer Per Diem rates to Government Travelers- this list changes periodically as some hotels will decide to accept Per Diem rates only during specific seasons or may not accept them during high peak periods, so because a hotel is not listed now does not mean it will not be listed here later.
- There is no guarantee of room availability, hotels do sell out and some properties limit the number of rooms they offer at per Diem rates. However, if you find a hotel that says they will not accept a Per Diem rate at all, please notify us and we will remove them. This happens when hotels change ownership or their franchise and fail to notify us of their policy change.
- Searching
- You have the option to enter an address, a city, or a zip code and a mile radius. The more specific you are the more detailed the search results. You can also enter specific areas of interest even if you do not have the address. Airport Codes will work (for example, enter ORD for Ohare). For a complete list of airport codes you can check here. You can also search on other points of interest, for example, the Pentagon, or Wrigley Field, so just enter these specific names, enter your radius, and click search.
- The more rural your destination, the larger mile radius you will likely need to search to see a selection of hotels, the more urban, the smaller. For example, with Fairbanks Alaska you need to go out to 5 miles to see even the first hotel, whereas with Washington DC you can see 20 hotels within a 1 mile radius.
- Even more on Searching – if you only enter a city, the map will start your view at the city center, the same follows up a zips code. Entering a specific address will center map directly on that address.
- Why do some hotels have links to their web site why others do not? Only hotels that pay for upgraded listings will include a link to their site, as well as their logo and any special offer they care to list. GovRooms.com is funded by advertising, so these hotels that pay for upgraded listings are the ones who make this site possible.
